Nina
Nina spent the first sailing weekend with Michael on SERENDIPITY II, a Hanse 38, on Lake Constance. It was Easter 2012, the boat was just put into the water and the next day the deck was covered with fresh snow. Since then, Nina has learned how to sail on weekends and during their shared holidays in the Mediterranean. Together with Michael, she had SERENDIPITY III, a Jeanneau Sun Odysee 34, transported from Lake Constance to Antibes in southern France in the summer of 2020. From there they sailed via Corsica, Sardinia and Elba, further south along the mainland coast of Italy, around the boot tip and finally from Otranto to Prevezza (GR). Nina realized that she wanted to travel longer distances by boat and get to know new countries and cultures.

Michael
Michael’s element has always been water and mountains. Diving, swimming, hiking and sailing relax him. After his father died in 2007, he inherited an Albin Vega 27, which he had overhauled and had his first sailing experiences on Lake Zurich and Lake Constance with. The desire to spend longer periods of time on the water was enhanced during the financial and economic crisis of 2008, which also hit his law firm. For this project he found SERENDIPITY I in a shipyard for Hallberg-Rassy boats on Lake Constance. She was a new HR 43, which he received as a “gift” from the owner for half the price. SERENDIPITY I was the ideal boat to explore the western Mediterranean single-handed to the Canary Islands and back.
